The stages of grief conveyed through abstract and geometric shapes in motion.

The assignment behind this project was to create short animations for 10 different emotions, and link them using whatever methods we chose. I decided to use the stages of grief, and split them into 10 different feelings: shock, denial, pain, anger, bargaining, depression, loneliness, recovery, reconstruction, and acceptance. I chose to work with liquid animation, as I've always viewed most emotions as fluid, and melding into each other. The exception here would be pain and anger, which cut to the core and interrupt all other feelings, shown by the sharp, geometric shapes. Overall, my focus was to create a visual metaphor using mainly simple shapes as to not distract from the meaning of the piece as a whole.
